2021 was another year of ups and downs for the performing arts sector. Mostly downs, in fact. But there was one particular cheerful moment for the growing community of performing arts wikimedians.

Since CAPACOA started delving into digital transformation as a means of fostering data re-use in the performing arts, these two questions have kept surfacing. In July 2020, along with Open North, we undertook exploratory activities to seek answers to these and other data governance questions. Between September 2019 and March 2020, a first cohort of 15 organizations will have the opportunity to work with Culture Creates to translate their event information into structured data readable by search engines and recommendation systems. As a result, local arts goers and tourists alike will have a much easier time finding your events, no matter what device or application they use.
