Margaret Lam is the founder of BeMused Network, a networked-marketplace designed to improve the social and economic impact of the arts. She is a published information science researcher, a seasoned print and digital designer, a trained classical pianist and an advocate for the arts. Her SSHRC-funded research at University of Toronto on music knowledge sharing platforms and the design of domain-specific information systems has been published as journal articles, a book chapter, and presented at conferences on knowledge management, information professionals, ethnomusicology, and digital futures, around the world.
Margaret regularly contributes her expertise as a design researcher on projects such as Artse United and Accessing the Arts. She is also the co-Founder and Co-Curator of the Digital Arts Services Symposium, and currently serves as an advisor on the Action Research phase of CAPACOA’s Linked Digital Future initiative.
