Linked Open Data // Données ouvertes et liée

A 3-min introductory video by Europeana. It explains the fundamentals of Linked Open Data from the user’s perspective.

EN: Linked Open Data – What is it?

FR: Le web des données ouvertes et liées. Qu’est-ce que c’est ?

The concept of 5-star open data , developed by the inventor of the web Tim Berners-Lee, offers a gradual scheme for evolving from the web of document to the web of data. Publishing data in open format is a first step towards linked open data (and the digital transformation of the performing arts sector). This introductory website on 5-star open data is available in both English and French.

To go one step further, this video on What is linked data? explains concepts such as machine-readable data, knowledge graph, and URI.
