SUMMARY:Raising an Artist Profile with Wikidata
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin CAPACOA’s Linked Digital Future Initiative (LDFI)\, the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) and the Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) for a step-by-step Wikidata workshop. This free\, expert-led workshop will focus mainly on Indigenous artists. \n  \nAs a free and open knowledge base linked to Wikipedia\, Wikidata is therefore a trusted source of information for Google\, Bing and other search engines. In this workshop\, participants will learn how to maximize their discoverability by either creating or enriching their own entry. \n  \nParticipants may register to attend either Session A or Session B. Both sessions will cover the exact same material. \n  \nSession A: Thursday November 10 2022 at 2:00 pm CST | 3:00 pm EST \nSession B: Thursday November 10 2022 at 5:00 pm CST | 6:00 pm EST \n  \nThis event is aimed primarily at IPAA members and MAN’s RBC Emerging Artists Program. However\, it will be relevant for anyone wishing to learn how to create and enhance an artist entry in Wikidata. Anyone is welcome to attend! No previous experience of Wikidata is required.
