At each session experienced wikidatians\, will guide participants on how to input cultural venue information into Wikidata. Sans salle de spectacle\, il n’y a pas de spectacle. Pas de rencontre entre les artistes et le public. \n\n\n\nPourtant\, il n’existe à ce jour toujours pas de base de données complète sur les lieux consacrés aux arts de la scène. \n\n\n\nWikidata a soif de données sur vos lieux culturels ! \n \n\n\n\nLe Datathon des lieux culturels est proposé en français et en anglais\, avec quatre sessions distinctes pour chaque langue. Le programme du datathon en français est ci-dessous.  \nAucune expérience préalable de Wikidata n’est requise. Lors de chaque session\, des wikidatiens expérimentés guideront les participants sur la manière de saisir des informations sur les lieux culturels dans Wikidata. DESCRIPTION:In the last year\, in addition to delivering a series of Wikidata workshops with La Cogency and Conseil québécois du théâtre\, CAPACOA invited arts organizations to participate in digital discoverability activities. We collected basic information about organizations\, which we then populated in Wikidata and in the Artstdata knowledge graph. \nThis “office hours” event was scheduled to give participants an opportunity to explore their Wikidata items and to enrich them with more organization information\, such as social media accounts and holders of leadership positions. \nThe office hour is open to “drop-ins”. Anyone is welcome. \nIf you don’t already have a Wikidata or Wikipedia account\, you should create an account. Your username should not be related to your organization. DESCRIPTION:Workshop with Daniela Rosu (PHD) on collecting effective User Stories for developing digital tools in the performing arts.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout\n\n\nIn this 1 hour workshop\, join Daniela Rosu\, an expert in knowledge representation and reasoning\, as she guides us through the process of collecting effective User Stories\, the basic building block that will form the foundational layer for the entire information representation standard being developed. \nCurrently\, the group is developing an information representation standard for the performing arts. There are many uses for this\, including the potential to impact audience growth by helping to improve the quality of recommendations in online search. Consider\, for example\, the ability for an audience member to search for an upcoming arts experience by a performance company (E.g. a dance\, theatre or opera show) and have relevant and appropriate content returned to the user. \nBuilding software that can solve these challenges about appropriate personalization of search results is possible\, but first we must decide on how to represent core concepts in the performing arts in a way that machines can use. To do this\, we are calling on domain experts in the performing arts (aka. artists\, performers\, creators\, arts administrators\, audiences and cultural organizations) to contribute. \nThis event is suitable for anyone who is looking to contribute to the PAIR-CG\, or who is interested in building a better future for artists and audiences. Participants will walk away from the workshop with a principled approach to gathering User Stories and a template for how they can contribute (either by sharing directly a User Story\, or alternatively by gathering a User Story from an artist or audience member). \nThis work is vital to shaping the future of the information representation standard being developed at the W3C and we encourage all to join us. \n\nPerforming Arts Information Representation (PAIR-CG)\nPAIR-CG is a group designed to collaboratively create digital infrastructure to support performing arts digital tools. Whether it’s a group meeting\, a live performance\, or workshop\, live streams are being used by individuals\, and organizations large and small. \nLive streaming comes in a lot of different flavours\, and moving past a simple teleconference setup can be daunting and confusing. \nIn this workshop\, Robert Ouimet will explain the various ways you might want to use live streaming for your art or your organization. He’ll explore the ways you can streamline and improve the live stream experience\, how to add multiple cameras and audio\, and best practices. \nABOUT THE FACILITATOR\nRobert Ouimet is the president of Bigsnit Media Consulting in Vancouver. Robert is an award winning journalist. He joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in the 80s\, where he created and produced half a dozen network shows for CBC Radio in Winnipeg\, Toronto and Vancouver. His Vancouver team created some of the CBC’s first digital projects\, and under his leadership\, its websites and radio programs won over 30 international awards\, including the Prix Italia\, New York Festival\, and multiple Webby awards. Since 2003\, Robert has worked as an independent media consultant\, working with clients like Microsoft\, the National Film Board of Canada\, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games\, Metro Vancouver\, Just For Laughs Comedy Festival\, Ecole Chocolat\, the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association\, the First Nations Financial Management Board and others.
