DESCRIPTION:This two-part workshop is part of the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts’ TAPA Trade Series and presented in partnership with the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts (CAPACOA) and their Linked Digital Future Initiative (LDFI). We invite performing arts producers\, producing companies and anyone interested in open data to join us in learning how Wikimedia Commons can increase your company’s online discoverability. \n  \nPart 1 – Intro to Wikimedia Commons for Performing Arts Companies\nWednesday\, February 22 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am EST\n  \nA picture is worth a thousand words. But if search engines and recommender systems such as Google\, Bing\, Alexa and Siri can’t understand what your production photos are saying\, they’ll ignore them. They may even ignore the production information connected to it that you want your potential audiences to find. \nWikimedia Commons is an online media repository of open images\, sounds\, videos and other media. It is also a way to add what is called “structured metadata” to your photo. In other words\, you can tell Google\, Bing\, Alexa\, and Siri the who\, what\, where and when of your production photos. This makes it much easier to have your photos shared widely online and to connect your work to audiences. It also provides a rich archive of your work. \nJoin us for this introductory workshop where we’ll provide an introduction to Wikimedia Commons. We will discuss how to clear photo rights and consent matters and demonstrate how to upload a photo to the Commons. \n  \nPart 2 – Linking Wikimedia Commons & Wikidata\, A Step-by-Step Tutorial for Powerful Discoverability Results \nFriday\, February 24 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am EST\n  \nIn the second part of our Wikimedia Common workshop\, we’ll provide a short recap of the learnings from our first workshop. We’ll then explore how to create an accompanying Wikidata entry for your productions. You will be guided step-by-step as you create your account and add descriptive data about your local cultural venues. We will also show you how to connect Wikidata to other open databases and display data points over a map. DESCRIPTION:Sous l’impulsion de son désir d’accompagner le milieu de la danse dans le virage numérique centré autour de la donnée\, le Regroupement Québécois de la Danse a complété avec succès une publication de données descriptives liées à ses membres actifs dans la base de connaissance internationale\, Wikidata.\n  \nCette activité\, menée avec le soutien de CAPACOA dans le cadre de l’activité « Un avenir numérique lié »\, a permis de contribuer à ouvrir la voie à la description du milieu de la danse québécois. Riche de quelque 570 personnes\, cette publication est maintenant disponible à la communauté. C’est pourquoi le RQD souhaite vous inviter à venir enrichir les données sur la danse lors d’une activité accompagnée et personnalisée. \nDescription :\nCette rencontre dynamique autour des données de la danse vous est proposée en deux sessions pratiques. La session du 16 novembre vise à enrichir en priorité les éléments autour des artistes et la session du 17 novembre vise plus les éléments autour des organismes et compagnies de danse. Cette particularité permet d’approfondir des notions propres à chacun. \nLe temps est organisé pour une prise en main rapide et une mise en pratique immédiate des fondamentaux pour la publication d’information et d’image dans Wikidata. DESCRIPTION:Produit par LaCogency\, CAPACOA et avec le soutien de partenaires\, le (Wiki)Datathon des lieux culturels réunira des volontaires passionnés qui travailleront dans une session détendue et informelle pour alimenter Wikidata avec des informations sur les lieux culturels que nous connaissons et que nous aimons. \nSi on les appelle « arts de la scène »\, c’est parce que les théâtres\, salles de concert et autres lieux culturels constituent un aspect essentiel de l’écosystème du spectacle vivant. Sans salle de spectacle\, il n’y a pas de spectacle. Pas de rencontre entre les artistes et le public. \n\n\n\nPourtant\, il n’existe à ce jour toujours pas de base de données complète sur les lieux consacrés aux arts de la scène. \n\n\n\nWikidata a soif de données sur vos lieux culturels ! \n \n\n\n\nLe Datathon des lieux culturels est proposé en français et en anglais\, avec quatre sessions distinctes pour chaque langue. Le programme du datathon en français est ci-dessous.  \nAucune expérience préalable de Wikidata n’est requise. Lors de chaque session\, des wikidatiens expérimentés guideront les participants sur la manière de saisir des informations sur les lieux culturels dans Wikidata. Ce (Wiki)Datathon se veut une activité fédératrice qui soutient les objectifs généraux du Wikiprojet Lieux culturels. \nQuand : Du lundi 25 avril 2022 au vendredi 30 avril 2022 pour les activités d’édition et une grande plénière le lundi 2 mai 2022 pour la conclusion. \nLa présence à chaque session n’est pas obligatoire\, mais pour une expérience optimale du datathon\, nous vous encourageons à vous joindre à nous pour le lancement et au moins une des activités d’édition. Cet atelier se concentre sur la création d’éléments Wikidata à propos de production en danse et en théâtre. \nCet atelier pratique\, le quatrième de notre seconde série d’ateliers\, s’adresse tant aux débutants qu’à des wikimédiens expérimentés. Il comporte deux volets: une première partie théorique\, suivie d’un volet de pratique accompagnée.
