DESCRIPTION:Topic: Wikidata items for dance and theatre productions\nDate: Wednesday\, May 4\, 2022\nTime: 3:30-5:00 p.m. (EDT) / 19:30-21:00 (UTC)\nFacilitators: Simon Villeneuve and Miguel Tremblay \nThis workshop focuses on the creation of Wikidata items for dance and theatre productions. Describing a performing arts production in Wikidata involves listing all contributor roles\, as well as stating relationships to the production company and to the work which is realized in the production. \nThis fourth workshop is intended for artists and cultural workers\, beginners and experienced wikimedians alike. It has two sections: a theory introduction followed by guided practice\, which allows participants to assemble different statements into a comprehensive production item. \n\nWhat is Wikidata?\nIt’s a free and open knowledge base linked to Wikipedia. Like Wikipedia\, Wikidata is also source of information crawled and trusted by search engines. For this reason\, Wikidata can be a powerful discoverability tool. \nAbout this workshop series\nThe 2021-2022 Wikidata Workshop Series is co-presented by CAPACOA\, the Conseil québécois du théâtre\, the Regroupement Québécois de la danse\, the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres and other partner associations\, with the support of LaCogency. It is part of the Linked Digital Future Initiative\, which is funded by the Government of Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts.
